Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) ’17

Jessica searched extensively for a graduate school program that provided the right fit for her career and personal interests. She didn’t want a Master’s degree just to ‘put a check in a box,’ and preferred not to take night classes in piecemeal fashion over multiple years to finish the degree. She wanted the full grad school experience and to achieve it without leaving the career she had invested a great deal of passion and time in. Jessica was thrilled to learn about the Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) program at Johns Hopkins SAIS. Through its alternating weekend schedule and small, cohort-based classes, she is pursuing an immersive graduate school experience while continuing to advance her career goals.

Jessica is especially impressed with the access the MAGP program provides her to leading members of the school’s faculty. Many of her instructors are also policy practitioners in the public and multilateral sectors. The academic rigor of her coursework gives Jessica the challenge and growth she sought. The camaraderie within the cohort has been a welcome feature. She is constantly learning from her classmates, who are also working full-time and have a wealth of practical experience in relevant fields to add to every discussion. The supportive and collaborative cohort model of the program makes MAGP a highly positive experience for Jessica.
