Jared, a candidate in the school’s Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) program, decided to apply when he realized that upward mobility in his career hinged on having a graduate degree. As many of his colleagues were Johns Hopkins SAIS alumni, he immediately considered a master’s program from the school as a potential option. The GPP attracted him as it was one of the few non-MBA executive education programs in Washington, DC. The well-regarded Johns Hopkins brand and the downtown location of Johns Hopkins SAIS sealed the deal.

As for his post-graduation plans, Jared says that the MAGP has already helped him secure a significant promotion in his current career track. The MAGP has also greatly increased his prospects for other opportunities in the defense and intelligence industry more broadly, convincing Jared to pursue a dual career track. He intends to start a local hard cider business in DC, with a plan to expand abroad down the road. The core (pun intended) of the MAGP, international relations and international economics, will give him a competitive advantage in achieving his future goals.
