Overview

Meet classmates from around the world and earn a Diploma in International Studies at SAIS Europe. The school’s multidisciplinary curriculum is taught under the American system of graduate education and is rooted in economics, political science, history, and foreign language proficiency. The close-knit, international environment of SAIS Europe delivers a formative and life-changing experience.

Become an Expert

As a student in the Diploma in International Studies program, you will join classmates from around the world to train under an expert resident core and language faculty, as well as from 30 adjunct professors who travel to Bologna from Europe’s leading institutions to deliver a world-class graduate education. Choose from more than 70 courses on topics such as international economics, US foreign policy, conflict management, global risk, EU policy, sustainability, international development, and law.

Whether you are interested in building your expertise in economics, a specific region of the world, or a specific international affairs issue, you can tailor your studies and select courses from the 40 courses taught at SAIS Europe each fall.

Contribute to the Bologna Institute for Policy Research. BIPR's purpose is to promote problem-centered, interdisciplinary research in international policy by drawing upon the global network of the school's faculty, students, and scholars.
